Editorial & medical review policy

Our standards

• Explain conditions and treatments in plain language, including what is uncertain or debated.
• Describe non-surgical and surgical options fairly, and never suggest surgery is right for everyone.
• Base medical statements on peer-reviewed research, clinical guidelines and authoritative public-health sources, cited on the page.
• Make no promises or guarantees, and no claims of superiority over other clinicians.
• Publish no patient testimonials, before-and-after photographs or outcome statistics about our own patients.
• Describe only services the practice actually provides.

How pages are written and reviewed

1. Drafting. Drafts are prepared from the cited sources. Writing and editing tools, including AI-assisted drafting, may be used at this stage.
2. Source check. Each citation is checked against the original source, and each clinical statement is matched to a reference or flagged for physician review.
3. Physician review. Efe Ozturk, DPM reviews every medical page for accuracy, balance and consistency with how care is actually provided, and approves it before publication.
4. Publication. Approved pages show “Medically reviewed by Efe Ozturk, DPM” and the date of that review. Pages that have not been approved are not published.

Keeping content current

Medical pages are re-reviewed at least every 12 months, and sooner when important new evidence or guidance is published. The “last reviewed” date changes only when a physician has actually reviewed the page.

Independence

Our content is not sponsored or paid for by manufacturers or other third parties. Links to other organizations are chosen for their reliability and are not endorsements.
